Parent App

What is “Parent App”

We are using the Parent platform for managing our childcare centres. It providines a convenient way to receive daily updates, mark vacations, sick days and sign your child in and out. It also gives you the opportunity to add additional parents/relatives who can see these posts and message our staff.

We are also using their platform to help with payments, receipts and invoices.

How do i join?

Once you finish digitally signing your parent package, you should receive an invite to the indicated email to create your account. Please allow up to 2 business days to receive the invite.

What should i do once i receive the invite?

We suggest going through your child’s profile and filling up as much information as you can. It helps our staff get to know them and provides us with critical information such as emergency contacts, allergies, medications etc.

Also click in the top right which will show your pin and give you access to settings and parent profile.

For some reason, parent does not allow setting your own pin, but the only use for it is switching between accounts and logging in without a password.

If you forget your pin, you can either click “Add Account” and singin with your account or scroll to the bottom and select signin via Email/Password.

How do i message staff or see messages from staff sent to me?

At the top, next to your profile, there’s a little chat bubble. You can use that to send us a message and view your conversations.

How can i setup recurring payments?

  1. Click on your profile picture positioned at the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Account settings.”
  3. Scroll to the last tab and enable save latest payment method and click save

The next step is to navigate to your child’s profile and go to the “Invoices” tab. There, you can pay an invoice and add a payment method.
If you are already set up, you’ll find in the attached screenshot that you have payment method information saved, as indicated by the large circle.

How do I pay my tuition?

Invoices are generated 2-3 days before they are due. The due date is always the 1st of each month.
Once the invoice is generated, you should receive an email with a link to pay.

If you setup recurring payments as described above, the invoices should automatically get settled on the 1st when they are due, or you can choose to pay it earlier if you wish.

If you are paying by e-transfer, please send us the payment by 4pm on the 1st of the month and make sure to include your child’s name in the note!

If you missed the email, or want to see your invoices, you can do so by selecting your child’s profile in the app and selecting the invoices tab (you can scroll the icons left and right to reach it if not visible).

How do I pay my deposit?

We suggest doing it by E-Transfer, there is a way to do it through the Parent App, but i feel like they went out of their way to make it as hard and confusing as possible.

Navigate to invoices:

Once on the Invoices section, there are 3 Dots indicating the menu, tap on it and select “Setup”
Sometimes the deposit request can take a few hours to show up and sometimes the email letting you know one exists doesn’t get sent. Make sure you setup saving your payment method first, especially if you are using PAD. If that is not enabled, you’d have to go through the process every time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any other questions, do not hesistate to contact us.

Why is there a fee for credit card payments?

Credit card payments through Parent incur a 3% charge, this is set by the provider (Stripe) as well as your credit card company which pays for your points, extended insurance and other perks.

Most retailers absorb this fee as part of their pricing plan, we recommend using one of the other payment methods which do not incur any fees!

How are subsidies handled?

For CCFRI we already reduce the fee amount by the (currently) 900$ discount.

For ACCB (Affordable Child Care Benefit) we can provide the form by request for you to apply and once we know the amount covered and confirm the payments, we will reduce your monthly amount by what is provided.

What are the subsidies?

The main ones would be CCFRI which is automatically applied as long as the daycare provider is enrolled in it.

The other one is ACCB which is income based and further reduces the amount, for more details Click Here

How does the meal plan work?

The meal plan is optional, we currently partner with https://thelunchlady.ca/

The meal plan cost is provided in our tuition schedule and enrollment can be indicated when filling in your parent package. If you wish to opt-in or out at a later date, please reach out to us.
